Buddy has a 2002 FXDWG. It came with a very cool color scheme. It changes from green (when the light hits it) to purple (with less light). This paint set has a 100th anniversary logo in the numbered paint jobs location on the tank (next to right knee). However, there is no number (XX/100, etc.). I cannot find another bike on the internet, nor have I seen another bike in this color in person. I've googled and searched to no avail. Can anyone shed some light on this color, and it's rarity? Curious if his bike is an anniversary edition that was mistitled as an 02, or if it's an 02 with a bad *** paint set.
Years back they had a color called purple/green flip. This sounds like it. Good luck trying to find an old stock or take off paint set like that. I don't recall it during the 2003 anniversary year. But that doesn't mean anything. Just means I don't recall.
Recently had my 2002 Fat Boy painted in something very similar from Specialist Paints. I'm happy with the results.
I painted my old Shovel with purple/green flip flop paint from the auto parts store years ago. It was kind of my quick fix, goof off paint job that stuck.
I actually did this paint on top, and a nice creamy white on the bottom of the tank, with panels on the fenders. It was a good looking color combo!
