When I get stuck in traffic and the outside temperature is very warm my 96 big vtwin starts to misfire and even backfire. If I throttle it a little it seems to level off. Once the traffic starts to move it seems to be ok. What could be causing my problem? Please help!

in that Tx heat you might consider those cooling fans or maybe a tank lift to let the heat out.

2007 was the first year for closed loop fuel injection, to combat the extreme heat this caused till they came up with new programming, they would download a rear cylinder cutout at idle when the bike reached a certain temp. It was called the EIMS. Sounds to me like this system has gone bad, but what do I know.
