I took delivery of my first Harley in January, a 2007 Deuce; why didn't someone tell me what a blast it was riding one of these?
Anyway, I installed a backrest and luggage rack but since I want to carry more than a 6-pack I need to find a way to carry more. In my opinion saddlebags detract from the clean lines that attracted me to the Deuce so I would like to consider something that attaches to the backrest and/or luggage rack for those timeswhen I want to store riding pants, jacket liner, work stuff, etc. Something not too bulky and the ability to expand would be a nice feature.
Check this out, I just bought on and used it on an overnight trip, it worked great.you can also just get the top roll, but I think that might be a little small.
I also suggest T-bags. I have the Tahoe expandible and I love it. But regarding saddle-bags, I bought a set of Boss bags and they have the ghost brackets. They leave an entirely clean look when you remove the bags. They are a bit pricey, but give you the flexibility between a touring bike and a bar hopper....
I use a T-bags roll bag on my 03 Deuce. I like the classic look of a roll bag and it holds more than ya think and it fits well on the rack. If you go for a longer trip you can move up to a full size T-bag and the roll bag will strap to the top of it.
I just installed Boss Bags full size saddle bags today and am really impressed with bags and the mount for the Deuce. They are making a good looking trunk that has a sandwich mount but I'm not sure how it will work with the Deuce rack. Looks like it would, but I'd ask Boss Bags first.

I got the bags about 3 years ago and I have countless miles on them. They easily hold a weeks worth of stuff including chaps and raingear in the roll. It has a raincover and then shoulder straps come in real handy once you get to where your going.
Here's a pic of it loaded on my scoot ...
If you look at my buddies bag, he got the new one by Kuryakin ( sp ). I was kinda jealous because it IS a nice bag with a retractable handle and wheels. Well .... about 200 miles into our trip one of the straps on his bag broke and he needed to rig up a bungee cord to hold it in place. Made me feel better about the T-bag real quick !!
