could be....I didn't even bring up "the closer to stock the better" angle. some like a bone stock bike or near stock so they know it's not been hacked up. A dealership might be able to get $6500-7500 since they can arrage financing. If he's in a hurry it's a 5-6K bike an if he waits for the right buyer, it could take a long time, he might get 7-7500. I love my evo's but they just don't bring the cash.
Depends on its mechanical/storage history and condition. How long have you owned it, and how many before you?
I bought it from the original owner, it had been stored indoors for many years. I had it shipped home and taken to the shop, all new fluids tires battery in the carb gone through. It had 2107 miles on it when I bought it about a year ago, it's basically a brand-new 1997 Fatboy.
It could go 6500 but needs to be pristine..... You gotta remember a lot of the OEM parts were no frills no value.... And performance upgrades do not typically add to value...
Pics and specifics?
I'll try to send some pics when I get home next week.

I'm in no hurry to sell it, just don't ride it that much, I have a VMAX, V-Rod and 07 Fatboy. As I said in another thread, I bought it about a year ago with 2107 miles, been sitting indoors covered for a long time. Had to take to a shop, new fluids, tires, everything, whatever is needed. It's basically a brand-new 1997 Fatboy.
Just list it for what you think it's worth and what you'd like to get for it. If you want 10 grand then list it for that, remember though, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
That said my Bro in law sold his 2009 FB in 13 with 1700 miles with just Rhinhart slip ons, he listed for $12g and he ended up getting $10.4 for it.
I just bought my 09 Softail Custom for $7000 in August. Unless it's a Deluxe softails don't seem to bring the big money anymore, everyone wants a bagger today.
A few months ago I purchased a 99 Fatboy with 17,000 miles for $6300. It was at a used motorcycle dealer. All numbers appear to match. It was super clean with a couple of extras, handlebar, grips, etc. I feel for my area it was a good price. Needed nothing to ride.
In my area, I'd try to get $8500 and go from there. Remember, 99 was the last year of the evo softail. Might be worth something to someone. Or you could keep it and see if the evo values go up.
