I bought a 2010 FXSTC that came with Harley extended reach forward controls. At 5' 8" its a bit too much of a reach. I'd like to go back to stock length. Looking for options. It seems everything aftermarket is extended length. Any suggestions?
I fitted extended fwd controls on mine... to go back to the old ones you would just need a std length shift linkage and to "loose" a couple of inches of the longer rear brake line. Would seem easy enough.
My control extensions were 3 pieces:
Longer rear brake line,
longer shift linkage,
and brackets that moved the foot controls 3" forward
Couldn't you just remove the bracket, put the controls in the original mount holes, then replace the shift linkage?
Thanks! That's exactly what I was wondering. I saw the kit came with the linkage and brackets but wasn't sure if I can reuse the longer brake line. I'll order the stock shift linkage then take it apart and look into it. Really appreciate your help!
