I'll try and take some side by side pics of the bikes head on and then the results into a dark area and post them here. I did think hard on the JW Speaker as well but found the Sunpie and decided for the price, was worth trying it after the positive reviews. I will say that the DK Customs bulb made me much more visible to other drivers during the day. You could barely look at it directly even on low beam. But I live in the country and do a lot of early morning and later night riding through wooded areas and corn fields. And even a moment sooner makes all the difference with an animal hit or miss. You can see my first deer strike in the thread link below in post 1. Just a little more nervous now running through wooded areas.
Yeah, I thought hard on that JW Speaker adaptive head lamp, but $800 is way too much. Rumor has it HD may offer it with some of their 18's. For $150 I got all three Sunpie lights - headlight, and passing lights.
Well, I pulled the trigger on the Sunpie headlight and passing lamps for my FLHRC. I wanted to get the JW Speaker adaptive headlight, but it's $800 bones. Couldn't justify it - especially considering I have passing lamps. Custom dynamics was my choice for the turn signals - front and rear, and the BAL-2 bright *** lights tail light.
Question: I bought the bracket for the Sunpie headlight. Based on what I saw on the Amazon reviews, I needed it. Anyone use it on a similar model?
Yes you will need the adaptor, it works well. A tip for you that will keep the Sunpie headlight deep enough in the bucket. When you mount the adaptor, there are 3 spring loaded screws. Make sure you run them fully in, mount bracket and headlight to bike. Make your aiming adjustment by backing the 3 screws back out just far enough to aim headlight. If you don't do this the headlight will stick out forward of nacelle about a 1/4" and look goofy.

Well, I'm not a fan of the passing lamps so far. It could be I'm doing something wrong, but....
1. This lamp is much deeper than the stock lamp
2. The pigtail is 6-8" long as well
3. As a result of the above (assuming), the collar doesn't fit and leaves an ugly gap.
The light is bright, but the fitment is a non starter for me (2013 FLHRC). Anyone else have this issue?

Perhaps the connector is wedged in such a way behind the light that the light's not getting all the way into the bucket or perhaps you don't have the outer ring on straight.

Here's a pic of the right one on my 09 Heritage.
It's a good thought. I actually have tried the plug in multiple positions by taping it in place in the bucket in various spots. The result is always the same.
The light itself is in place - doesn't spin or move at all, which leads me to believe that this light is somehow not quite right for my bike.
After looking at your light comparison, it does appear that the LED light is quite a bit thicker than your stock light.
I think mine were very similar in size.
Did you put the "nesting ring" in backwards?
I did this initially and the light would not sit flush in the lamp housing.

It's possible, but I think it's right. I'll double check.
