Default Brake Pads?

What are the best brake pads to fit my '05 Softail. I've seen kevlar ones, but don't know much about them. Which ones stop the best? Which will make the least amount of brake dust? I'm planning to change to chrome rotors soon. Anyone got some experience here?

I have the same question, I want to change the brake calipers to chrome, and I am looking for "pads" that don't produce alot of brake dust(It's a bitch keeping those white walls...White!!)

Hopefully somebody will chime in with some info.

Searched the forum archives, and the general discussion for less dust and better braking seems to be the "Lyndall Z pads"...don't have any experience with them, so you'll just have to give them a shot!!

The only pad you need to consider is the Lyndell Z-Plus Kevlar pads.
Dust free and the most gentle on the rotors.

Ditto. I starting using them this spring; they are great!

agree with GC. did them 10'000 miles ago. Big improvement over HD pads, work well with chromed rotors.

I run EBC Kelvars. They are half the price of OEM pads or Lyndalls. The good thing about Kevlar is that they are quiet and don't chew up the rotor like OEM pads do. I used them on polished stock rotors. The leave a nice satin sheen on the wear surface.

Chrome rotors? I don't see how the chrome can hold up no matter what pad you use.

Gotta go with composites for sure.
I'm also using the Lyndall Z pads.. I love the 'zero dust'
