Tie downs
Bought HD cam tie downs for softail. Suggest rachets. Recent trip had to re-tighten straps after rain. Seems the straps loosen when wet. Especially trailering in mountains where bike gets a lot of left/right sway on winding roads. Also, rachets from Harbor Freight att 1/10th the cost.
There are less expensive ratchet straps on the market, but these have built in soft ties and locking latch hooks

The fat tyes (1.5 inch wide) are big enough for a softtail.

+1 on the Powertyes.
I snug up my "Big Daddy's" and about 30 minutes down the road I stop and check them and then they never loosen.
I don't know how they do in the rain.
After going through a hail storm a few years ago with an open trailer I bought an enclosed trailer before the next trip.
