Default how to remove windshield?

Ok, so mt 2004 fat boy is the first bike I've had that's had a windshield. It has two spring like things on the upper attachment points, and slide over a pin on the two lowers. For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the so called "quick detach" windshield. I am sure I am missing something, and sure it has to do those upper springs.

Thanks for any help

Edited to remove my snarkiness: I missed the important part of the OP's text.

This happened to me when I bought my deluxe used. Guy hadn't taken the windshield off in forever. I loosened up the bolts on the side so that they weren't pinching the little rubber grommets. That helped. Then you just lift the retaining wires while lifting up and towards you if standing in front of the bike. When you reinstall, use a little silicone lube on the rubber grommets. That helped for me. It gets easier with time

lift the little spring looking things over. so looking at the bike front the front tire the one of the left will move to the right and the one on the right side of the windshield will move to the left. let them stay to the side , firmly but not crazy grab the windshield from the sides near the metal supports if you can and lift up while slightly pulling to yourself. should pop right out! goes back together in reverse order pretty much. sometimes my clip on the right side tries to stay left when putting it on so keep an eye on them.

Mine was difficult to get off as well, but after I was able to remove it, I put a little vaseline petroleum jelly on the rubber ports....now it goes on and off easily!

Definatly a little lube makes it easier to go in. We use KY jelly.

I just grab the top of the windshield with one hand and lift the bottom of the shield just above the headlight with the other hand and gently pull it toward me. Pops right off every time on my old RKC.
