My Sunpie LED headlight is causing me to get a error code, apparently it thinks the light is burnt out because it draws too low of voltage. It's easy enough to clear the code, but I have to do it daily. Has anybody figured out a way to correct this? Other than that I am extremely happy with them, but this is a pain.
I am curious if others have this issue as well. I have a 17 also and kind of hesitant to get them.
Maybe a solution, could there be a way to add a resistor like when people use led turn signals to fool it into thinking you have a conventional bulb?
I had read somewhere on this form at least one other person having this issue. The service person at my dealership told me this happens often when people use LEDs meant for a if vehicle other than a motorcycle. The good news is when my code warning little red light comes on it only stays on for a little bit then disappears so it's not a big deal to me. At first it came on and stayed on for quite some time, but now it shuts off by itself so it must be made to do that way I'm not sure in any case it's no problem for me. If somebody comes up with the resistor or something I could install I will, but if not I would still have installed these lights, too much savings and performance to ignore.

I don't know man, I almost wanna call BS on that one. I do however think you're on the right track with the resistor theory. I wish I could be more help. I seem to remember seeing an anti-flicker device or similar lights and Jeeps.

it's hard to call BS when it's happening to me, and I've seen at least one other person on this form state the same thing. The error code is definitely indicating the front headlight is out which is low voltage , so it is what it is, That said obviously it's not happening to everybody, so some lights must be pulling lower voltage than others. Even though my error code is still in the memory, my indicator light is not staying on any longer, so it's no bother to me at all. It's certainly nothing that would cause me to go spend $600 on a DayMaker headlight, that's for sure.
