Default Distribution chain tensioner

Hi to all
Ive just open the derby cover and found out the tensioner líke this



my bike Heritage Softail classic 2012 has 30K
is it normal?
Im planning to pull out chain and fit a cam kit
but dont know wich one will fit my bike
can anybody help me?

Not normal unless you removed the bolt that holds the tensioner assembly in place. If not I'd be searching real hard for the missing bolt in the cam chest.

bolt is not missing I pull it off to see how was the tensioner

Would you, are you changing that tensioner with that type of wear? or is that good for a few more miles.

Not too worn but I would change it while you are in there, M.H.O. Oh that's not the Derby
it is the Cam cover.

Cam choice depends on what type of riding you do.

Those tensioners are fine. It's a roller chain, it's not going to wear much more in the next 50,000 miles. Put it back together and don't use those no name tensioner shoes. Or, if you indeed do cams and want to replace the shoes, I'd use OEM.
