I contacted the maker of the backrest today asking if the position of the backrest could be moved back. I was told yes it could be and he would let me know more in a few days. This is a person I am glad I bought from, he is pretty responsive to his customers.

so can I ask how your liking the back rest? Just installed docking kit for my sissybar last night. today was my first ride with out the rear seat and such on. Think I may be in the market for a riders back rest. didnt relize the rear seat did a decent job as a rest.

This is a solo version. I locked it down slightly raised. I find it moves me forward just a little and I am ok with that also. The ride was very comfortable and I am happy with my purchase. Sure beats spending the money for a new seat and backrest.
The instructions with mine said to wrap 2 rounds of electrical tape around the backrest bracket before you install it. That gets rid of the play you mentioned.

I'm curious, if your stock seat is so comfortable then why do you need a backrest?

Having had 2 back operations I needed the back support not butt support. The seat is fine for my butt, just not for my back.
