Hello everybody I have a 2000 softail classic that does not feel balanced when ridding.the bike feels like it has more weight to left side of bike.
I checked the bike out for frame damage when I prchased it this summer, bike does have a custom paint job on bike that changes colors in sunlight.
the bike could have been laid down but no signs of it on frame or other parts.
if you let go of the bars they will start to weave back and forth.
**** said he bought a new front wheel before I got the bike because of a ding in it.
he also had 2 New tires mounted
I don't really mind the handle bar thing I will just keep both hands on the bike.
it's the feel of the bike while ridding it seems like it wants to go left while going streaight.
can anybody give me any advice on this problem.
bike has around 38000 miles
thanks everybody
oh and I have heard of the death wobble but my bike is a ballance problem I think
I would wonder if a qualified person installed the tires? The guy maybe that did it... didn't balance? Or when they mounted the rear it wasn't equidistant on the axle? Sounds like an amateur job on the surface, but it's your bike now. On that note, I'd take it to either your Harley dealer or an independent shop and have them check it. SOON. This is serious. I hope the ding in the wheel didn't bend something else, it's very possible. I wonder, did you test ride before you bought it?
Bought the bike from an older married couple they always had a dealership handle all work on bike.owner wanted 6500 for bike in the add started talking to him on phone and worked out an agreement for 5300.I checked all areas of bike for damage and found none.
bike did this from day one,i will check the rear axle to see if it's the same setting both sides.
I'm not ridding it no more winter is on the way bike put up with cover on it,i think I will have it looked at next spring to make sure it's safe to ride.
I have put around 700 miles on bike this summer
thanks for the advice
