Keyless systems seem to work great, but I don't think I'll ever prefer it to actually using a key or ignition switch. My Challenger had a push button start. It was nifty and all, but I like to turn a key. I guess it's why I like a manual trans vs automatic. The auto does almost everything better, but I enjoy driving and doing it myself. I know we've had push button bikes for a long time, but the key just gives me one more mental ritual that helps me focus before I fire up.

To me you still should have concerns of a thief pushing your bike onto their trailer. Not being able to start the bike wouldn't deter them if they really want it.
Locking the ignition and forks is still required.

What is the difference between the factory security since 2008? Is it just the complete removal of the ignition switch all together?

Seems to be. My '13 72 had a typical sporty key you leave in while riding, her '15 48 just has a fob. She has a key only for the fork lock. All you need to do is have the fob in your pocket, set switch to "run" which fires up the electrics...then push the starter.

I keep looking for the ignition when I turn on the new bike. Yes I lock my forks because a thief might be able to figure out your code I guess even if you change it.

That's still 100,000 possible combinations...it'd take awhile.

That would give you plenty of time to call the PoPo or load up your revolver.
