The Slim is the most visually unchanged of the Softails.

I see your whining *** posting nothing but butthurt all over the place every possible chance you can and now that you’ve run out of places, you have your own thread about. I suppose that is better than the thread crapping you’ve been doing everywhere.

The Slim is the bike I really wanted when I bought my first ever bike 3 years ago. After riding a XL1200X for 2 years, I traded it in for a ‘17 Slim.

I love Slims. And I’ve seen enough of them than I could EASILY tell a ‘17 from an ‘18 at a distance.

IMO, the ‘18 isn’t ugly, but a ‘17 or older is better looking. For starters, the stock exhaust on an ‘18 looks like a Fat Boy had sex with an Indian Scout.

Funny I like the bend of the 18 rear pipe myself over the 17 that whole area looks like a step up in fit and quality over a 17 much classier run that slider over it you'll see.
Actually up close the 18's look way better fit and finish than the 17's totally, I'm in the HD shop right now .

You and the Aussie bloke should blow each other. I was at the dealership to day, saw the new slim for the first time, next to a 17 and make an observation. Sounds to me like your butt hurts after the Aussie pokes you. You e got nothing t offer other than come on my thread and try to insult me, stay the **** out.

Slims come with slim seats, I think they are called butthurt solos. If the 18 is smoother then butthurt should be less. If more butthurt is your thing buy the 17.

I really liked the sitting position on the Slim over the years. I sat on the '18 and it no longer had the same stock ergos. It could easily be adjusted with a different riser, but sitting on the Slim, Street Bob, and Fat Boy beside each other was interesting. The Slim now has the longer reach and feels much more sitting "on" the bike like the Dyna's did whereas the the Street Bob felt much more "in" like the old Slim. The taller front wheel really alters the frame angle to achieve this. The Fat Boy was in between the two. I prefer the older position, but overall I thought the new Slim looked fine although obviously missing some classic elements such as the oil bag with external lines. One big thing is I'm really enjoying the new motor over the TC 103HO I had in every aspect aside from idle. Louder pipes will help I think. I never rode the 110 or 110 S so I can't compare those although I've heard the heat only got worse. Otherwise the M8 has much more feeling once it's going down the road. Good feeling, not buzz. These motors really open up with a few miles break in so I think it's tough to judge from a test ride on a low mile bike. I get that some changes don't appeal to everyone, but no way would I classify them as resembling an import. I miss the ignition switch and some other details, but I also miss my carb...overall the improvements still win me over and the biggest winner is how well they ride without sacrificing their character once you're at 2400rpms. I also like that they idle back at 840. There's a little lump there. Just need to open it up with the right pipe I think. I didn't accept the Twin Cam until a few years into the model and I never preferred them over the Evo, but I came to enjoy them for what they were. This motor has grabbed me a lot quicker.
