Hi all, just picked up this 2003 Fatboy this past weekend. Been enjoying the hell out of riding again. Been a long time since my old bikes, over 30 years, but very happy to have this nice ride.
It was serviced @ Harley in Annapolis Md late last week, rebuilt Carb, along with a bunch of routine service, then had a new front rotor installed, they failed it during inspection for being out by .007". Thought that was odd, as everything I read and know about tolerances, .007 should be within, put it on a lathe and a good whack with a hammer would fix. But hey, now I got a new one.
Came with a windshield, I will try to get a couple if pics up here.
I do notice one funky noise, it sounds like a rubbing noise when coasting fast in Neutral, maybe brakes rubbing or something. I don't feel it, but just hear it very slightly, (any ideas? )

Thanks

Welcome. If the rotor looks straight I'd check the pads are seated evenly or the caliper isn't sticking a little. Rear rotor tends to hear warp on Harleys.

Nice looking fatboy, congrats on the new scoot. I had to replace a front rotor a couple years back, **** just happens

Like you, Im just back into riding after many years. I love my Fatboy, its so comfortable. Coming from sport bikes with carbs, I wanted this bike to be FI. Opted for a 2004 just so I don't have to worry about the carbs getting gummed up. Nice bike BTW!

Nice Bike! I was looking at one pretty similar but ended up going with a 2000 Fatboy priced a little better and it only had 9819 miles. I always liked the look of the Fatboy with the solid rims but now every time I get close to a semi I wish I had spokes so I wouldn't get blown all over the place.

Thanks all, I actually like having the Carb'd model, especially when it's running right. I think I mentioned that the carb was just rebuilt, so it is purring nicely.

any advice on how I can get the wife to hop on the back😁

Sweet ride, I've always loved the 2003 Anniversary bikes. Hopefully one day I'll be able to pick one up in a touring model.
