Fatboy S Rear Shock Upgrade Recommendations

Upgrading the shocks on my fatboy was the last mod added to my bike. Progressive 442 in the rear with their monotubes up front. In all honesty, this should have been one of my first mods as the ride and handling are miles better than before.
I know, nobody can see them and we tend to focus on looks first...or at least I did. I can give a big thumbs up on progressive and think you will be very pleased if you go this route.

Progressive 422's or 422's with RAP if you want to adjust them often. If you want to go with an air ride system I cannot recommend the Shotgun Shock enough. I have multiple softails and am running both 422's and Shotgun and whichever way you go it will be one of the best improvements you will make to your bike. As mentioned above, spending money on suspension is not a 'sexy' mod by any stretch, but once you get it sorted you will wonder why you didn't do it first...
Also, don't neglect the front. I am using Progressive Monotubes in all my bikes to complete the suspension package, these bad boys will work wonders for the front end from handling to no more front end dive under hard braking to lowering the front end if desired...

I put the 422s with RAP on my '16 Deluxe that I bought new a year ago. During the first 1000 miles the stock Deluxe jarred my neck badly twice. I have ridden over 2500 miles with the 422s/RAP and Progressive mono-tubes up front. Ride is more controlled and I have received no neck snaps. Ride is still too firm for my liking,(settings: no preload front or rear) but I am a lightweight at 150 pounds ready to ride. I have the 422s set at stock height. You have the option to lower the rear with the 422s.
To me the change was worth the cost.
