Default Speedometer

i have a 01 Fatboy, Carbed bike that has a 6 speed tranny installed. The bike has a s&s speed calibrator installed. The speedometer is off by quite a bit while riding. There are 2 dials on the calibrator and when I turn them both and ride to test it it's still reading the same. Could the unit be bad? Any other ways to track down the issue? It's getting annoying when the speedo says 30 and your doing 55.
Any ideas?

If you've tried adjusting it and the reading won't change I would think the unit is dead. Contact S&S and see if there is a way to check it for function.

Sometimes the details are in the information provided or the information that is missing.
Your 2001 Fatboy would not be factory stock if it has a 6 speed transmission.
For example from the S & S website: "One notable example is that the calibrator will not work with Rev-Tech® transmissions, unless you piggy back two units together."
Consider reaching-out to S & S with exact details of your bike.

Does it have the sending unit that fits into transmission on top of case? If so, remove and clean sender. That could do it.
