The company that made my garage door opener wants to charge me $110 for another FOB, which I need to open my garage door when I come home on my (soon to buy) bike. I'd prefer to use an app w/kit instead so I don't have to park the bike, walk in the front door to access the garage/opener to park my bike (1st world problems, I know..).
Looking for some good smartphone solutions, if there are any...
Thanks!

PS: sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I'm buying a softtail, does that count?
I bought a small programmable Chamberlain Remote Door Opener at Home Depot, it opens 2 doors. Put some small EZ Pass strips on the back and mounted it to the bike on the side of the brake fluid reservoir by the handlebars. Its black, looks great, opens doors several houses away and I can remove it at any time. Under $40.00!
Liftmaster has an app that will do the job, I've used it for quite awhile. You'll have to get some extra hardware to tie your doors into your home network but I can open and close/see status on my doors from anywhere. I've opened/closed them from across the country. It's just nice to have when you're away really.
However, on the bike, I found it was a lot less steps and inconvenience to take a regular remote opener and velcro it just behind my seat on the frame. Can't really see it, no wiring, no extra garbage on the handlebars.

On my last bike 17 Road Glide took put in a marine switch and soldered some wire to the opener mounted the open under the faring the switch mounted on the outside worked very nice. There a tread of the site showing how nd were to get the supplies if you do a shearch. On my 17 Electra Glide i just use the compartment on the right side its to small for my phone just put the remode in there fits great works well. Ive tried a lot of the apps i think there crap unless you have the newest state of the art openers no luck finding one that works with my current opener.
