stupid primary question

Default stupid primary question

Well.....trying to adjust my primary chain for the 5000 service. I understand the specs....but how the heck do you rotate the chain?
I got the bike on my stand....got it in neutral....cant turn the rear wheel...so, what am I missing??? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You sure you don't have the emergency brake on? Just kiddin'. With the bike in neutral, the back wheel should turn. Not sure what's going on.

nope.....emergency brake is off..............landing gear is down.....seemed like I had read something about pulling the plugs?

If it really is in neutral there should be nothing to stop the wheel from turning other than a very tight drive belt or dragging brake pads. The only other reasons to keep it from turning, you don't want to think about.

If the rear wheel is not turning it's because it's not in neutral,brakes are hanging up(not likely)or the clutch is dragging some(very likely).If your adjusting the primary chain just pull the plug wires and bump the starter lightly to turn the motor over and move the chain.Or if you feel so inclined pull the plugs out ,put it in gear and rotate the engine with the rear tire.I,d just pull the wires and bump the starter myself, since I,m quessing your clutch is draggin some and causing the tire to hang up/ wich isn't a big dealto adjust while your there.
