I think you are safe to assume that there is no connection between the work done and the electrical issue.

You have a short to ground somewhere in the accessory circuit, systematic troubleshooting will find it.

The brake switch is located in the brake lever housing. If your mechanic leaned into the brake line a little too much when he tightened the banjo bolt it's possible he moved the housing enough to pinch the wiring.

txphatboy wrote the following in his response to you. Like I mentioned, it's a shot in the dark but highly probable...

"The brake light switch wiring was pinched in the housing. So simple, but I tore into a lot trying to find the problem. If your mechanic was working on front brake reservoir, I would start with that hand control and wiring."

It's easy enough to remove the two mounting screws and take a look at the wire harness where it enters the handlebar if you have internally wired bars. I didn't have internal wiring on my old Sportster but accidentally pinched and cut the wire harness where it exited the brake housing. It just seems odd that you didn't have the problem until you had the brake line replaced.

That is very true. If the bike has been lowered the wiring harness may have been damaged when the bike bottoms out. I had that happen on another bike of mine.

If it anything like my Breakout tank just remove the front and rear attachment bolts and the quick disconnect fuel line. Then remove the tank console and disconnect the connector plug and vent line then you can slide the tank back almost a foot without having to disconnect the crossover fuel line.

If you have access to a mulitimeter, you can check to see which wires are connecting to ground when they are not suppose to be!

I appreciate all the input fellas. As I said before, I know it's not in the back of the bike because I unplugged the rear harness and it still blew a fuse.

I managed to get the day off today so I'm going to try to dive into it and see what I can see. Starting with that right hand control.

Alright fellas I found it. There 3 different wires that we're pinched inside the right hand grip housing thingy. All 3 of them had a small nick in the outer coating so I'm not sure exactly which one it was but I taped them all up,put everything back together and I have accessories again . You guys are awesome!! Thanks for all the help.

I have found that even though you have the wires run neatly in the bars, ROTATING the switchousings on the bars to get a more comfortable position in such a way will cause the wires to pinch as the slot where the wires go into the bars will not line up and cause pinching issues.

My wires are not run internally but they are about to be. I'm tired of looking at them.

there's your answer folks.. I'm sure the mech didn't intend to do it, but it most likely was him tightening the brake line with a lil extra oomp and moved the lever housing assy just enough to pinch the wire..

I would be sure to let the guy know in a friendly way so he knows what happened and try to prevent it in the future.. we only learn from our mistakes.
