16" LRS recurve was purfect for me to look over and little to no buffeting. I do have a HD deluxe windshield bag attached to my nostalgic HD windshield. Never have tried it without. I also cut 2" off my sportster 18" windshield so i could see oveer it with little buffeting. I also have a small HD bag attached to the sportster handlebar riser facing forward. That is probably your best bet.

Here's what I'm talking about. Between the bag and the fangs, I have hardly any air coming up from underneath, which is what causes most turbulence.

Default Fangs and 18" LRS

Fangs and 18 inch LRS work for me. The fangs make a big difference. On my '07 RK I had fangs and Klockwerks billboard flare. Costs more than the LRS. That shield is wider than stock. I would like to try one on my Deluxe.

I have this screen on my 05 Deluxe and it is great. I have the height so I look just over it. I have the chrome lowers and when I use my soft lowers it is very calm.

U-234, If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I'm about 5'8" with short legs. I bought a Reckless full Fairing to cut down some of the wind, but it did make much of a difference. I didn't really like the fairing, although I did like having tunes.Anyway I took it off and have it listed on offer up. I'm going to put my OG windshield back on but I have a few scratches on the shield so I'm looking at LRS Recurves. I also don't want to look through the shield. I'm not sure what size to get 16" or 18". So I'm just taking in all this info before I buy something I'm not happy with.

I went to the dealer and they fitted my wife on her heritage. They said she should get a 16" windshield for her height. I am curious, would a LRS in 15" be the size to get her or should it be taller? I want to eliminate the buffeting for her. I plan to work on my bike when I get it back from the shop.

Proper fitament is paramount.
For me I like the shield to hit right between the nose and mouth so if I have to duck under it like in a rainstorm or a bird coming at you, you can.
Here's a pic of my last bike with a memphis shades shield on it who I highly recommend.https://memphisshades.com/pages/memp...arley-davidson

I'm 5'9" and I got the 16.5" shield. The factory is ~18" and I was looking right through the top edge and it was annoying. The 16.5" LRS is perfect.

Throw your factory windshield back on(its most likely the 18", measure from above headlight cutout to top). See where the top edge hits your face(mine was right at eye level). LRS says it should hit between your mouth and nose. My eyes to my mouth and nose was right at that 1.5" mark or so, so the 16.5" fit me perfectly. I dont think they sell a shorter one than that and with the re-curve you cant really modify it without killing the shape. Maybe they can custom make shorter ones, I dont know.

Default 18 inch LRS

I'm 5'8". My normal leg length in jeans is 32 inches. Riding on the stock seat and wearing a half helmet with visor I have no problems with the helmet rolling back on my head. The wind is hitting near the top of my helmet. Sitting up straight I measured 29 inches from the seat at my crotch to my line of sight. The 18" windshield is about level with my line of sight, so my road view is split by the shield. I think a 17" shield would be perfect for me and a 16" would be too short. I bought the bike with the HD stock 20" shield and I was always looking through the shield. I ride sitting straight up; I don't slouch.
Hope this helps in your decision.
