Cool 2018 Deluxe . . .

Anybody have one yet? Just wondering how you like it so far? Pics appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Rode one in September, very nice. Local dealer just got another one. Hope to see it in person tomorrow.

I ordered one in mid October and was told by dealer this past week that Harley won't be shipping them until mid to late January. He said I should expect my bike by the second week of February. Just in time for the winter snow. I should have ordered snow tires with studs!

I understand that Harley has limited the production of 2018 bikes but you would think they would have enough in inventory to at least release some to the dealers in my area. There are currently only three dealers in the small state of Delaware and not one of them has a Deluxe. I visited two dealers and was disappointed to find out that not only did they not have any Deluxe models, the total inventory on the Heritage was four bikes. My buddy ordered a Heritage at the same time and has been given a probable date of delivery in late December.

Did they halt production due to economics or are they waiting to manufacture "fixed" Softail M8 engines? Sorry for the frustration.

There is no inventory - the bikes come off the production floor and roll onto the truck.

I haven't seen a Deluxe yet at a dealer in CA. Only 1 lists one on their site, and it is coming soon with the stock picture.

With the shift to the new Softail, they have to make a lot of different bikes in KC. I noticed in the last couple of weeks that dealers around here got a lot of different Heritages and Fat Boys. They also all have lots of the rest of the Softails - Slims, Fat Bobs, etc. Before that, they all had a Black Fat Boy and an Iron Red Heritage 114.

Just a guess, but the Deluxe is the one that holds over the most from the old model. Maybe they worked to get the new models out first, and wanted to sell off the remaining 17 Deluxes so they aren't stuck with them. The Deluxe is the one model that did not go up in price, so it might be hard to sell a 17 with 18s on the floor.

Not putting the 18 deluxe out right away with a big amount of 17s on the floor would be smart.

They have them available to test ride at Modesto this weekend. The demo truck is over there and It's like a Fatboy but handles better.
