Greatly appreciated. So in original set up (with switch from HD) when everything is connected as per instruction what does this switch do? Is it allowing me to control passing lights independently of high and low beam?

I just dont know what to expect from this set up and when these additional lights should be on/off and what does switch controls.

Yes, the switch gives you independent control of the aux lights when on low beam. You have no control at all on high beam. They just stay off.

I only use the switch if I'm low on battery and need extra juice to crank.

As shown in the diagram above, if you use the orange/white wire
and NOT the yellow wire, your aux-lights will operate with key-on
switch and/or your manual switch (if you install it).

The high-beam will not come into play when the orange/white wire is used.
Thats about as clear as I can say it...

hth,

T.
