Came across one this morning at the indy that changes my tires. Just about untouched. Seems to be cosmetically perfect, 10K miles. It has a few chrome doo-dads and drag pipes, but it has the original a/c housing, and even has the Welch plug in the carb covering the idle mixture screw. They're looking for $7500 and I'm trying not to go make an offer.
Sounds like a nice bike! I've always been partial to Springers. Perhaps your Indy is familiar with the bikes history? I would never be one to talk you out of adding another to the stable. As the saying goes...He who dies with the most toys...DIES. Life is short so experience it to its fullest. Motorcycles are toys not necessities. If buying this Softail doesn't create any financial burden to you and your family then buy the bike. Ride it often and enjoy it!

The shop is selling the bike on consignment. However, the condition of the bike speak for itself. When I say untouched, I really mean it. It doesn't look like it has ever seen rain. I ran my fingers on the frame under the primary drain and they came up clean. I'd say buying the bike at the asking price (the shop said the seller probably had some room to lower it) wouldn't create any financial burden. However, I'd need some extra space.
I bought this beauty about 3 months ago for $7200.....
It is an '01 FLSTS with 9.9K miles. It was all original except for the seat and they changed out the OEM vacuum petcock. It too had the plug still in the carb... but I needed to remove it to tune it... this baby is a rider!

Go get that bike... you know you want it!!!!
Sweet! The bike I'm looking at is all black. I went and looked at it again today while getting some tires changed. It is for all intents and purposes in new condition. I honestly don't know how someone can keep a bike that perfect.
I'm going to mention to mama that it would be a great Christmas present.

That's what mine looked like stock... changed it's looks twice now, and already have plans for the 3rd rebuild
Like I said earlier..If it's not going to create any financial hardship for your family and you truly like the bike I would just make your offer with a final firm number in your mind. The Springer would make a fine Christmas present but then again so would Momma's "forgiveness". Christmas is still nearly 2wks away....surely she won't still be upset by then...WILL SHE ????? lol Good luck with your offer!!!
