Default Rear Wheel alignment problem

Wondering if anyone here has a solution to aligning the rear wheel on an 07 Fatboy. The service manual says to measure the distance from the center of the rear axle to the center of the swingarm pivot bolt. I have gone through a lot of the previous threads and it seems like previous year bikes had a small hole in the swingarm pivot bolt (or the swing arm itself) that could be used and there were several descriptions of how to make a tool to help do this. With there not being a reference of some kind on the pivot bolt head it seems that just eyeballing the measurement isn't the best way to get it aligned to within the 1/32" of an inch that's called for. (If the head of the bolt was the same size as the nut on the left side it would be possible to measure from the edge of the bolt but that won't work here either.)

Has anyone else run into this problem and come up with a solution? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks, air_marshall

Draw stright lines from all the points on the swing arm nut. Where they intersect will be the center of the swingarm bolt. You can either hold your measuring tool at the center, or you can center punch a small dimple in the center of the bolt to put the end of your measuring tool in.
