Default Deluxe Backrest modification

I really like the OEM backrest on my Deluxe but I have a problem. Im ordering a one piece 2 up seat and wont be able to use the fender mounted rack any longer, dont like it anyways. Question is has anyone mounted a rack or no a rack available to mount to the OEM Deluxe backrest? Thanks for any advice.

Pretty sure the backrest mounts to the pins on the fender struts. So, removing the fender rack should not affect your backrest.

Removing the fender rack will mean I no longer have a rack. This is why id like to figure out a way to add a rack to my OEM backrest rather than buy a new backrest with rack I dont like as much.

Motherwell racks. They attach to the nuts that hold down the rear of the seat. You can either slip the brackets onto the nuts or under them. I have had their racks on my last 2 big twins. Great quality.

Problem I have is i'll be using a one piece 2 up seat. So i'll need a rack to attach to the OEM backrest or ill have to buy a backrest with rack. I know there are plenty or backrest with racks that will fit my bike but id like to keep the OEM backrest and attach a luggage rack to it.
