got ready to start bike about a week ago..had started before ...now it just turns over, but won't fire..has fuel but apparently doesn't have fire somewhere...could it be ecm...any ideas...
Check the battery voltage. Should be 12-13V Might be enough to turn over but not enough to throw a spark. Pull a plug and see if you have fire at the plug.
On all ignition systems there is a primary and secondary side. You need to figure out which one is not working.
In a nutshell the primary is all the low voltage components. It tells the secondary when to fire. The secondary is the high voltage components and plugs and plug wires and coil. Well technically, half of the coil is the primary side.
no fire at plug?.....any other ideas...checked battery voltage...(12.9-13)
I'm not sure if this means you had no fire at the plug or you didn't understand my question. Pull the plug and rest it on the side of the jug, then crank the engine and see if it has a spark. This will verify if it is a fuel or electrical problem.
