HELP PLEASE engine cranking no fire
Someone help me I am doing this for my boyfriend because he is about to go crazy tryingto figure out what could be wrong. I am taking a shot in the dark because he left all ticked cause I kept telling him to get on the interner. So he is working on his 2001 springer softail and he is all stressed because he is getting the engine to crank but no fire. Any suggestions as to what this could be?????
Not to be a smart a$$ but did he check the obvious: Ignition switch, fuel valve, is there fuel, is fuel getting to the carb; does it smell like it's flooded, is there spark?
Again, not to be a smart --- but not much info to go on.

No offense taken but yes he did and I should have mentioned that. Initially ran out of gas. When He put the gas in it would it would crank but not start. He checked the plugs and the wires all were good. He is stumped on this any ideas?
remove air cleaner. put some gas in a trigger bottle. give the carb a couple of shots and crank. I believe there is a air block in the fuel line. Vapor locked.
sleepneagle probably nailed it, if not check for debris in the fuel lines, if you have not already. The fuel lines may have clogged with debris from sediments in the bottom of the tank. You can also check the carb jets for blockage.
