Default Night Train advise

hey everyone attached are some photos of my night train that I finally got to modify last year. When I first did everything I loved the changes, but I still feel its missing something. I feel it still need something done or something doesn't flow properly. I'm gonna list some things below that I might do or change. Let me know your thoughts.

-might remove gas tank lift
-the front end has to big of a gap so i'm either gonna keep stock rim with bigger front tire or maybe just go with 23" rim and fat tire
-removing exhaust wrap or paint black?
-change headlight or paint gloss black
-maybe doing white tire lettering or making a whitewall tire
-powder coating more parts glass black

any input would be appreciated

Your going to get a whole raft of ideas on this post, but only you know what you want. Personally I'd loose the the head light and go back to the bates type, diffinately get rid of the pipe rap, but depending on how long it's been on there the pipes may be red rusty. And for me the bars are to high, don't like the Derby cover, think they're the type that crack if you over tighten them. White tyre lettering sounds good.
Otherwise nice bike.

I kinda figured that would be the response. I've attached 3 photos of bikes that I like but i'm not looking to copy I want to have my own style. My favorite has always been the one with the red rims.

I think what i'm trying to accomplish here is making the bike flow a little better if that makes sense and I feel the front end it to open and I'm not sure if its the light or the 21" or maybe I need to add air bags. The front and rear have already been lowered

As to your response
-yes I agree there is something not right with that headlight, but for some reason it looks good on the attached photos
-the pipe wrap hasn't been on long less than a year and never got wet. I might just spray it black

IMO if you want to copy a style look up pics of dennyo's bike, one of the best on the forum, and it would work as well for a Nightrain.

I don't like the pipe wrap

Put the front fender back on. Front wheel looks too big as it is
Rotate the handlebars so they match the angle of the forks. Possibly replace them with a set that has more graceful curves and about two inches less height.
The tank lift is causing the front wheel to look goofily oversized.

Headlight is out of place and looks like a bad photoshop or Victory.

The wheels aren't right. Too many spikes or something. Then again, I don't like most of the wheel trends lately like fat spokes or huge front wheels.

To me, among some of the best looking bikes Harley has produced are from the 90's, most notably the Softail Custom, Springer Softail, and Bad Boy. That gives you an idea of what my sensibilities are for style.

I just had an idea. Put a black and chrome Springer front end on it like the Bad Bad had.

None of what I said matters, because it's not my bike.

All the bikes in pics are lowered in front. 1 and 3 look to be 2" and #2 looks to be 4". 2" would reduce the gap quit a bit.A tight fitting wrapped front fender would also help take up some of that gap.The fenderless bikes look good but if you ride it the motor and frame will take a beating in short order. One time in the rain usually helps you get over the look. Never cared for anything on a Train except the stock headlight. Coating yours black and a short mounting block would really help help the visual. It just needs to be tucked in towards the steering head. Bike #2 is a rough ride with sidewalks that thin.
Tank lift gone. Pipe wrap is up to you. I had it in the past but found if you ride the bike it looks like crap in a season. I like the front wheel. Add one like it out back.A 80/90 front tire would also beef up the looks. Like protest says it's your bike do what you like and ride it. G.

Id get rid of the headlight and go back to a stock looking one.
To fill the gap maybe you can try fork tube covers? Those might make the front look beefier.
Post pics if you do wind up going with the covers. Would be interested in doing them on my train.

Change handlebars, everyone has apes, be different, that fad has run the course of time.
That rapp around front fender would look good on your 21" tire with a thin white wall. JMO

Not everyone has apes, because at least half the forum members constantly bitch about how much they hate them. I do think the apes are little too tall and throw off the lines of the bike.

I agree, the headlight does not look right. Before I replaced it, I would try try mounting it lower and pulled back into the triple tree. Right now, the headlight sits really high and is pushed way out in front of the forks. I have seen that style headlight look good on many similar style bikes. Maybe just have a buddy hold the headlight in a few locations and see if it improves the look.

I would lose the white/silver exhaust wrap. Black would look better.

Ita a nice bike - sure a couple little changes will make a big difference.

change the rear wheel out for a spoked wheel. when i did mine, i got one from a 2009 crossbones. tooke the front wheel off, had the rim and hub powdercoated black and re-spoked them both with twisted chrome spokes. they were a bitch to clean, but the amount of compliments i had on them were worth it. and i also like the idea of the wrapped front fender.
