I'm no expert but I think 103 is out without doing a stroker crank so if you do that go 107....I think the way to go without having to split the cases is to go to a 96 c.i. since your bike is an 01 it has the better lower end (crank/bearings) I'd just do the piston jug swap to a 96 an have the heads done.
Isn't there a 98 kit available. Also may want to look up the HIPPO build. There was a thread not long ago where a forum member basically did a budget hippo build.
S & S makes a 100 inch kit for the 88 that just involves the pistons and jugs. Don't of anyone that has used this kit or what kind of results you can expect.
