I am sure I will get bagged on, but as I have gotten older I just don't do tires anymore,
I get my best out the door price from my dealer and just have them do the job, if there are any issue's they always have made it right. JMHO. Ride safe.
I called 2 dealers near me and they were were high priced. One was almost $100 over and the other was about $70 over for 2 tires vs Amazon, Bikebandit, Revzilla, etc. They both charged 2.5 hours to install which is about $225. Labor charge was the same whether you buy tires from them or bring tires to them. A smaller "custom shop" I called charged about the same.
I just bought this 2007 with 13k miles and I'm pretty sure tires are original. I rode it home about 30 miles, about half on the interstate. I wasn't feeling too confident at all. I need tires now before I do any riding. If anyone is interested, the best deal I found and purchased for a set of Michelin Commander II was at Chaparral. They were shipped to my door for $308. Best Amazon and the other popular websites was $318 and up. I know that they all run sales and rebates come out from time to time so thats why I posted. I've had the Michelins before and liked them plus I need to get these put on while the weather is still crappy.
