Can I install crash bar with 2” forward controls extensions?
As in the title. Is there anyone manufacturing crashbars rmthat will fit on slim with 2” forward controls extensions? This is basically Harley Blackline set up now. Not sure anyone is manufacturing something like that. I will really appreciate any info in case someone did that in the past.
I had to fabricate extensions to mount the crash bar to when I put forwards on! wasn't hard, someone probably makes mounts just for such but at the time I couldn't find any! good luck.
If you get the crash bar that has U bolts to mount to the front of the frame, instead of where the highway pegs/forward controls mount, it should work fine. I traded with someone a set of mid-pegs for forward controls, and then got a highway/crash bar that mounts this way, and both work just fine. The outside of the highway/crash bar is fairly close to the brake pedal, but not so much that it interferes with anything.

Let me see what I can do, it was really in expensive - the hard part for my bike was the kickstand spring has a little bump out or extrusion from the weldment so I had to notch around that. I painted the extensions black - so let me see if I can get a good pic of both sides for ya.
This is just a piece of flat rod drilled at both ends
I took out the front engine mount bolt & slid it through the flat stock to get an idea of what I would need to do & get the length for where the Crash bar would mount - a sharpie marker gave me the profile & then I just "trial & error" it until it fit, I just painted the nickel coated flat bar black when done to blend in. I used the motor mount bolt & lock tite to make the structure solid - hope this helped.
less than 5 bucks & maybe a half hour of your time! good luck
I have the Mustache crash bar with forwards attached by using what you see here, all clearances are good, the only thing with the mustache crashes is the shifter - I had to mess with it to get it so my foot had enough room on the down shift between the top of the crash & shift peg. if you have the standard crash bars you`ll be fine.
