To the OP - how tall are you, man? I'm 6'4", 36" inseam, 275lbs. Smaller-to-average guys seem to have a problem reaching the bars.
I have no problem riding all day on my Breakout. I did change a few things though. First I ditched the rear shocks for a Shotgun setup. Next I fixed the squishy, dive happy front suspension. Go read the front suspension sticky at the top of this Softail room. That **** works bro. Do it.
Then I installed H-D's forward controls extension kit. Man, what a difference that made! Something so simple but makes a big difference for tall riders.
Then get a better seat - the H-D seat blows. I tried a Danny Grey seat first. It was OK but only lasted a couple years...cuz I'm a big mf'er, lol. I took the DG seat to a local outfit to have it re-done. Much nicer now than the D-G ever was.
Finally, get rid of the factory tires ASAP. Actually, switching to a better set of tires should be first on the list. The change is mind blowing. Just pick any tire manufacturer - Metz, Pirelli, even better grade Dunlops, lol ... they'll be better than the factory tires. Harely puts the wrong size front tire on the bike! I'm not exaggerating. You have no idea how bad those tires are.
just got a 2018 fxbr, love the looks but ,it has the hardest ride i've ever owned.( for an old fart) that being said, my problem is , no handlebars available to make this ride alot more comfortable. don't know when parts will be available. no long trips planned, i still enjoy riding at 68 yrs. young, just hope i can get some bars soon.either way, it's a keeper for me......

some good bars from a comfort factor are the carlini bag drag bars. You need short risers for them and something to step them up, but they are super comfortable.
