Really dislike 18 fat bob license plate mount. Looks bad imo and always found a way to kick it when walking around bike it sticks out so far. Think this looks way better and don't have to worry about it hitting anything she trying to squeeze thru tight spots. AND its free and takes 5 minutes to do. Loosen 1 bolt on back of frame and reposition to vertical. Done
I agree, that bracket looks pretty stupid how ever some states may not allow you to mount your plate vertically. I would almost prefere tucking it under the r fender.
Been there, done that. The way it comes stock is stupid-looking and very annoying; I used to end up bumping into it or kicking it every time I walked around the bike. Infuriating.
As the OP, I turned it sideways, and it was much better. But still goofy. But, hey, it was free, and it was much better!
I've since gone to the Blackmill license plate bracket which, while not being free, is IMO the ultimate plate solution for the Fat Bob and it's the way the bike should have come from the factory.
Modded the side plate holder to verticle right after pulling the reflectors of within minutes of getting the new bike home Friday. The Blackmill kit is on the list.
