Default Bigger motor

I been thinkin about either getting a big bore kit or a bigger motor, would love to mount a 103 ci but not sure about modifications, i own a 92 Fatboy, does anyone have any input on this, what is biggest i can go with least to no modifications, will a 103 fit? Or? This will be my first rebuild on a motor or motor change so not real sure and dont wanna have to make major mods my first try at this. Thanks

I believe the 92 Fatboy came with the 88 engine. If so, it is my understanding that it can be bored and stroked to 107.

I went this route on my Fatboy....it's a 106.

Write up and pics of the process that Eric Bennett used...

Evolution engine was 80" from factory. You can't get much bigger with stock cylinders, maybe 85", just not much meat on those cylinder. Better off with a good cam.

You could do an 89" by stroking it. I "think" you can drop a 96" aftermarket in there without changing out clutch, etc. My brain is fuzzy and haven't thought of such things for a very long time. If you ask over at the Evo Section those guys know what you can do.

if you have a huge budget you can stroke that evo....or for like 5 grand you can get a S&S 110" motor. can you do your own work? a set of 10.5:1 pistons in it with a cam an have the heads worked you can put down 90 hp 90 tq or so....where's a write up you can look around at what they can get from a stage one an stage 2 80" evo motor.

No huge budget, guess i should have said, bigger with low budget, however, if i have to hold off til the following winter thats fine too, which is probably more logical anyhow, im definately shootin for new fenders and tank this winter, but theres t painter at my shop and so ill ill just have $ in parts and material there, and as for the mechanical end myself and a friend do all our own auto work, not much on scooters but im im sure we can handle it, yes ill il the work myself other than what ill have to have done in machine shop, so that should save $ there, ya kno.. thanks for input ill definately look at that link....

What area are you in in Ohio? I'm about 30 miles west of Cleveland.....Hillside is a sponsor on here an they know evo's an how to get a strong reliable evo motor. I was shocked how much just a cam change with a carb tune kicked up the power.

http://hillsidecycle.com/engine-kits/80-evo/

also if you do some searching in the evo section you'll find what works for some of the guys....lots of knowledge in there.

Im from Steubenville,Ohio, live in Mingo, its few miles south, thanks for info bro, ill look into all of this, and im all about a bigger bang for buck. I was only lookin to beef it up to 103", but 106/110" would be great, but id be happy to bump it up to 96", im really not lookin for speed, but definately lookin for power. I like to do my own work, im im pre good around a chevy, havnt had a bike in few years and havnt done alot to any but i i ct see any reason i cant do most of the work...
