I considered that one but didn't know enough about its construction to choose it over the Explorer. Can you tell us what the seat pan is made of? Is it plastic like the stock seat?

I have a Saddleman Explorer for my 18 Heritage. I am still getting tailbone pain but nothing like the stock seat so I guess it's an improvement. I was not wriggling about as much trying to get comfortable like the stock seat when I did 2000 miles last week, seems the Saddleman is wider and there is more room. With the stock seat it felt like my butt wasn't sure where to sit. Still waiting on Ultimate and may switch over when they finally get it together.

I've had back surgery, down low. Your 2000 miles would cause me pain even if I was on the Ultimate with rider's backrest I had on my VTX, I'm sure. If I can ride long enough to burn a tank of gas on this Fat Boy without experiencing the pain I have so far I'll be happy with that. Of all the seats I've had on my bikes, and there have been many, the Ultimate was the best for me to date. I've never had an Explorer yet and I have high hopes. And I couldn't wait for the "few months" I was told by Ultimate last week before switching the stock seat out. I'd be very surprised if I don't personally find the Explorer to be a significant improvement over the stocker. Fingers crossed.

I was in the same pain as you, there was no way I was doing a week on the bike with the stock seat, I was close to tears after half an hour and an all day ride was excruciating. I couldn't wait for Ultimate so I went with Saddlemen. My tailbone is still sore I think from 8 months on the stock seat.

Well I just got my Mustang Seat tonight Now all 4 of my bikes sport Mustang seats.

Definitely narrower at the front, feels like I sit lower.

Firm and comfortable.

Much better bucket (non-existent bucket stock) than the stock seat.

Not a lot of back rest feel if you are looking for that, but it is pretty supportive up to the small of my back . They sell one with the back rest, but the con is you have o remove the back rest when the passenger pillion is installed, so why bother unless you are strictly a solo seat guy.

The tuck and roll is minimal effect (more flat) which is fine for me the Saddle man has a real tuck & roll seat in comparison.

Passenger Pillion has a nice profile not real thick in the back, covers most of the fender, will be more comfortable for your passenger than stock. I think this seat is going to be just fine for me & it looks good to me as well. This bike is not my long haul bike so It will have plenty of support for the rides I take it on.

The Saddleman step up has a nice back rest, but the passenger pillion is really small & I didn't care much for the looks.

I've only got a few miles on it tonight & it's set to rain the next 2 days, but I'll report back when I can get a few more miles on it.

The tuck and roll looks much better on your bike than it does in the Mustang pictures on their site. The seat and pillion both look good on your bike!

Thanks .
I'm pretty happy with the profile, not too obtrusive and still very supportive bucket. Just don't expect to be able to recline back and feel anything on your mid back, because it's not going to be there without the back rest, but the small of the back is very supportive.

I've nearly come off my bike twice due to an unexpected blip of the throttle. I won't ride without a backrest now even though I'm much more used to the grunt of the bike.

You're bike looks great by the way.

Thanks, yours doesn't look too bad either Never would have thought I would have loved the white as much as I do but my wife was right again Only other plans is to put a set of V&H Short Shot Staggered pipes
and a FP3 once the warranty runs out; unless Custom Dynamics starts making the Dynamic strips for our bikes. I've got them on my slim & love them.
