Default Possible Opportunity

I have the option to purchase this bike for $8k from a family member who can't ride any more due to a back issue. I'm seriously considering it, but thought I should check in here first since you guys will know way more about this model than I do. Thoughts?

2009 FLTC Heritage Softtail Classic
Two Tone Flame Blue Pearl/Pewter.
15,100 miles.
At 9000 miles a stage 2 Big Bore engine was installed for more power. The 103 cu in motor was installed at the Harley dealer. Have complete maintenance records.

Becuase the bike is in the family you should have peace of mind that you are getting a good bike and not something passed on with any hidden issues. To me that is worth something. If you like the bike then proceed!

I should also add that he bought it new. So tempting. It would be far more nimble in Vegas traffic than my FLHT.

Did you check NADA to confirm pricing? NADA reports a low retail price of $6,670 and a average retail of $8,775 for a 2009 Heritage Softail. Low retail is about what a dealer would give on trade.
Now keep in mind those prices are for a stock Heritage Softail. Any upgrades and the prices they reflect would be considered at what you feel comfortable with. In my experience the dealers don't give much stock in upgrades when pricing a bike while figuring trade in pricing.

Sounds like a good buy in my eyes. Ride and enjoy it.

The KBB trade-in value on a 2009 Heritage is around $7500 with a suggested retail of around $10,000.
As "Mesa" stated since you know the deal is clean that's got some added value so if you can handle the finances and the bike works for you I don't think you can go wrong at $8000.

Great price especially knowing the history of the bike. With that said, I've never quite heard anyone describe the Heritage as "nimble".
