looks like a good deal to me. Hard to argue price with a family member especially since, as the above posters have shown, its in the lower side of the range, yet it looks like a bike capable of getting the upper part of the range in price due to condition. Enjoy the bike.
If I were in your shoes, I'd buy it without a moment's hesitation.....!!!
The pic looks great, the info you supplied suggests it's a good deal for you, and you'll love having a Heritage....
FWIW.... When I bought my '12 limited, I thought I was going to sell my '03 Heritage..... Took the Heritage for one last ride before posting it for sale. I couldn't bring myself to sell it!! It is a totally different feel and ride from your bagger...
So I kept my Heritage too.... I find that I still ride both bikes often. The Heritage more than the bagger around town, and the Bagger always on the long trips.... Glad I kept them both...!
Good luck...and enjoy!
I eventually added a thrid bike, but that's just because I have the sickness......

Great price especially knowing the history of the bike. With that said, I've never quite heard anyone describe the Heritage as "nimble".
He said "more" nimble...LOL! To be honest softails have a low CG and aren't that bad on the nimble scale...if we are using the Harley "nimble" scale of course.

Ha! Poor choice of words I guess..... but you guys know what I meant
We're still trying to figure it out. I'm in Vegas, and the bike is in Eastern Washington State.
I say go for it! There's a definate value in knowing what the bike has gone through and how it was ridden. I just went through a similar deal on a heritage and I'd do it all over again. I know you're not going to get something like that for 8k from a dealer where I'm from. And you'll love that 6 speed tranny.
I've tried to help him sell the bike since I originally made this post so he could get try and more money out of it, but it hasn't happened. So today we talked, and he dropped the price to $5k to get me to buy it. Done deal. I'll have it back in Vegas in a couple of weeks. I kinda wish I didn't have plans to go to the drag boat races in Parker next weekend, or I'd leave tomorrow!
