Default 2018 Slim

Considering a new Slim. Of course I will be test riding new Softails, but I am looking at the Slim for a solo bike and used for short rides. I am not a long distance touring guy.
We have a new Indian Scout set up for the wife and also can be used for two up riding. It is set up with good seating and bags. It actually is not a bad mid size bike.
Owners of the 2018 Slim feel free to comment.
I am sure I will be changing out the seat for something a bit more comfortable. Also looking for windshield suggestions. Not sure the HD detachables are that great???
Probably be mounting a swingarm bag on the bike to carry sunglasses.

In regards to the swing arm bag...you'll be surprised how much crap you can stuff in there.

I'd go with Memphis Shades for the windshield, have Mustang seat on my '16, big improvement over stock.

I love the Slim but the Heritage is the same bike with full fenders.
Get the Heritage with the 114 motor, remove the rear seat and bags. Get the slim handle bars.
Thats my plan, waiting to see the 19 models to make a decision. . I’m in no hurry because I have my 16 RG ultra.

About your only options for seats right now are Saddleman and Harley. Mustang doesn't have anything for the Slim yet. Seat is definitely on my wishlist too as the stock one makes me numb after about an hour.

I think I will test ride one of the softails today. I want to see how good the new frame and M8 is compared to older bikes.
Maybe a good idea to wait for the 2019 models? I do like the Heritage as well. Also like the Deluxe.
New models are supposed to be out when?

Yeah, it's the same bike for $4k more....and you can build a Heritage out of a Slim for much less than $4k, which I did as you can see..$520 Endscuoio bags, $389 seat, $390 shield, and I can strip it down quick....and the 114 is not that much better than the 107 to justify the $ difference....I rode them both....the Slim is the best deal going if you want an FL type Softail...and I got mine for $1200 under MSRP, No Prep, No Freight AND a free 1k service from Iron Valley HD

2019 models will be out end of August as always for HD...btw the deluxe is almost the same price as the Heritage but with no bags, passenger seat or shield....NOT a good deal
