Where do you go to get that insert??? I have the football on mine, and I'm not much of fan.

You can get them from HD among other places. They are simply the inserts meant to be used on the footballs, minus the footballs.

What stops bugs, water etc from destroying the filter though?

are there any concerns with leaving the filter exposed to the elements. Like what if you get cuaght in the rain doesnt that allow water to get into the motor then? or is that not a problem. Have wanted to do this cuz i love the look but just dont want any problems with the motor because of it.

I was concerned about the elements, too. But I figured that I don't do a lot of riding in the rain anyway, so no big deal. That said, I have been stuck in the rain a few times now, some of which was HEAVY. I have had no issues.
