My slider pin and bushing vibrated off the bike! I went to the dealer and could only buy the pin. The bushing is only available when buying the COMPLETE CALIPER which is ridiculous! Can't find one anywhere.
I have attached service manual part...#2.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding a DIY solution? Would PVC pipe work? It would have to have a stop as well. Not sure how to make that.
OK, I figured it out on my own. As stated above, you CANNOT purchase the slider pin bushing. How the factory part vibrated or broke off is unfathomable!!
So, I had one made for me....for a lot less than a new caliper. This bushing Is much better in design and stronger than the factory part. Made from high strength plastic, the inboard side of the bushing has an arrow like shape with a cut through part of it. When inserted completely through the bushing, it expands and stays locked. The outboard side has a lip around the perimeter to stay locked. It works awesome!
