Quick release hardware

Hi Guys,

I have a 2006 FXSTI. It has the quick detach HD leather saddle bags, and I’d hoped to get a sissy bar. I went to HD and talked to service. The guys there had never seen the quick detach hardware that’s on it, and the saddle bags won’t work with the new hardware kits. I was hoping someone on here may have some knowledge about this “older” hardware and options for attaching a sissy bar and still being able to use the saddle bags. The HD guy thought that perhaps the current hardware might thread on to the end of the new bolts. The main issue is that if you buy the stuff and it doesn’t work they still charge you 20% to restock.
