I’ve since checked in one of our accessories guys on similar. He was pretty definitive the top half of the clutch cable would need replacing (longer) and the brake line (longer) ... adding if electrical extensions were needed, they were cheap & easy. Seems they’re still feeling their way with the new Deluxe. On my Narrow Beach Bar enquiry, he was adamant none of these changes were required and definitely the extra reach required ... although approx 4hrs to get the electrical wiring in the bars plus fat bar risers/adapters req’d ... pricey option though!

Ok fellas (and ladys if any are listening) I finally got a parts list after visiting 3 dealerships. (Thanks Tobacco Road (old Ray Price)).

Dont run out and buy this stuff because its not installed yet. Waiting on delivery. But I figured I post the parts list now.

1. Clutch cable Drag Specialties 38666-07 vinyl PN 0652-1427
2. Tranny gasket PN 36805-06
3. Poly Riser bushings 56165-03 (not needed figured I might as well do them while things were opened up)
4. 6" Risers 56266-09
5. Handlebar Clamp 56567-86b
6. 1 qt dino tranny fluid (Or syn. if you like)
7. Clamp Hardware 94452-05

Grand total 351.49 including tax ..you could probably save at least %10 by getting parts at boardtracker and you dont have to buy the gasket from Harley.

Ill probably take it to my indy to do the labor. Very capable .. custom bike builder. $50 an hour.

Ill let you know either way if I have install issues.

Regards
Chris

Ok .. I got the Risers put on today. Cost was $100 for the install ... for those in the rtp area of NC Widow Maker the guy who is on this months cover of Full Throttle Mag did it for me.

My response to the change .. If your 5'6 or shorter and feel that your are reaching for the bars DO THIS MOD !!!

Perfect fit for me. I'm glad I did it. No more stretch. The modified riding position sets that natural bend at the elbow. Handling is better now because the push on the bars is much easier because there is no longer a need to lean forward a bit.

Ref to parts.
The mechanic said that the extended clutch cable is working fine however it is almost adjusted all the way out. The casing is long enough but the cable itself could use another inch or inch and a half.

If doing this mod on the Deluxe. No question about it .. you need the new clamp and you need new bolts. The clamp bolts are offset on the new riser setup where the bolts on the stock clamp are not.

Also the bushings arent the right ones for this bike. Ill be bringing those back. Again .... I bought these figuring to go and replace them before they got sloppy to save on labor ... so I guess Ill nave to live with the rubber until they go south.

My stock risers will go on the classifieds .. Some of the slim guys might be interested.

Regards
