I'm thinking it's time to replace the clutch pack on my 07 FLSTN. I don't think I need anything high performance so besides the OEM what other suggestions are there?
I Craigslisted a new take off clutch pack because I added about 45HP to my bike and my stock one had 96k miles on it. You don't wanna know what HD wants for a set of stock steel and friction plates. If I remember right it was more than the SE set of "performance" plates they sold. What makes you think it's time to replace the clutch pack if you didn't add performance? Is it slipping in top gear when you roll on it? If it isn't, I wouldn't do anything. If it was, I'd remove the plates and measure & check for flat. If they measure good, I'd change the diaphragm spring. If they didn't measure good, THEN I'd look at replacing the plates; no sense in spending money you don't have to.
EDIT
Here is your stock clutch pack part number 37932-98 It's 169.99 list just for the frictions and steels. Boardtracker HD has them for 160.00.
