here's one they "customized" to raffle off at the end of bike season to raise money...I don't know if it came all black, if the parts are in the catalog or if they pulled the parts to powder coat. I guess they customize the somewhat so they can overvalue the work an get a better write off.
Everybody has different taste, but to me it makes more sense to buy something else, because most of the approaches discussed in this thread involve an awful lot of expense after the purchase of a high priced bike. The brushed chrome and unique shape of the headlight nacelle make the Fatty different and attractive to lots of folks. The different, and somewhat futuristic, design is why I bought my 115th Fatty. I love customizing and making my bike my own, but fighting the original design rather than enhancing it costs lots o'money.
I love the new Fatty. Powder coat is the way to go...
