Hello everyone! My name is Jason. Ive been riding Harley for 3 1/2 years now and I'm on my second one, a 2017 Softail Slim. Like most everyone on here I'm sure, I want to do as much work on my bike as possible to avoid losing any appendages at the dealer, and it's just a good idea to know your machine . Not long after I got the Slim I put 14" hangers on it and also rear light relocation to make room for detachables. Last October I rode out to Amarillo, and while there I noticed my fuel gage not working. It came back shortly after and didnt have problem with it till I rode to BBB Fayetteville. I also learned my front and rear running lights aren't working. I've checked my connections and I'm not finding anything that might be a problem. Fuses also good. Can anyone give me an idea on either one of these issues? Thanks
Welcome Jason,
When you are riding all your wires and connections vibrate , some a bit more than others.
Most of the time, when the bike is static the connections will work. Now due to the vibrations during riding connections that are not 100% set will shortly disconnect and connect. You need check connection by connection and wiggle the wires and connectors. Most likely you will find faulty one(s) this way. These type of issue are a PIA.
Just recheck what has changed / modified and start from there. Success!
