I test rode a 18 FB when they first came out. Loved the bike, hated the handling. Was wondering if anyone had made any mods to make it turn better? Different tires, trail and rake adjustment? I know some think its fine, I have talked to many that feel like I do.

I fixed my problem with its handling by trading it in for a Low Rider... I found it very uncomfortable to throw around twisties, and realized no matter what I did, it would never with those wheels. There was a point I considered swapping a breakout wheel up front, which may have helped, but the cost was just about what I lost on the trade, so I went that route. The Low Rider handles so good, I am very happy. I also did a Stage 3, which is also fantastic.
I know thats not what you asked, but I dont think theres any good answer. If you havent bought it yet, try the Low Rider...

a different shaped bar would help give you most control. Not a pull back drag bar. I found the stock bars to male the bike un turnable. However the bike handles great. But if you have a long reach like me the bars could be your problem.
My Breakout has the fat back tire and it is not a flickable bike either, even with the narrower front tire. I ride mostly country roads and I like the slow transitions. For my riding style it's perfect. But for many, even though the suspension is now excellent, it will feel sluggish in turns.
If you buy it, you'll get used to it. But you may not ever enjoy it. If quick handling is your thing, super-wide rear tires aren't.
I swapped the stock bars on my 2016 Breakout for a set of stock bars off of a 2017 Fat Boy S. Handling improved dramatically due to having better control and leverage.
The Fat Boy will never be the best handling bike because of its design, and the oversized tires. For me it handles fine, and powers out of the curves beautifully. It’s a rock solid bike built for effortless cruising. I’m assuming you want the 114 engine, if that’s the case, test ride a Fat Bob 114.

The Bob and the Boy are 2 totally different bikes... I cant see comparing the 2 theyre so different..
