Default Adding miles to an odometer

Hello and thanks for any help offered.

I'm selling my 09 fxcwc. When looking over paperwork, I see my newly reprinted title says my odometer reading is slightly higher than what it actually is. Due to weather, I absolutely cannot get out and ride my bike 200 miles today to make it match by tomorrow morning.

My question is what is the easiest way, from the comfort of my garage, to add some miles? Can I strap it to a lift with the back wheel off the ground and let it go? Can I just remove the belt and run it?

Thanks again.

Just explain it to the new owner. They'll either understand and live with it or they won't.
To add the mileage to the odometer would be foolish. Why would the new owner want to add mileage and wear and tear to the bike,
not to mention no air flow from movement over the engine.
200 miles is nothing, OR the new owner can wait for a new title. Run it by them.

When I bought my bike used the odometer read 148 miles so did the bill of sale and registration, the bike was 16 years old. So you know it was wrong.
I'm pretty sure the speedometer was replaced but I can't prove it and really don't care at this point.
The DMV put 10148 miles on the title. I had them change it and issue me a new title for resale value if I decide to sell.

I agree with Ranger. By trying to add kilometers (sorry mikes) to the clock you add wear and tear. You also risk something going wrong

I don't disagree that it adds wear and tear, but I don't have a choice. I'm not selling to an individual, but to a dealer, and they won't buy it with the discrepancy. On top of that, I only have a couple days to get the issue corrected. I do have a 48" shop fan to blow across the motor while it's running, so airflow is not an issue, as it will push air about 78 mph Thanks for the advice, though!

Just take it for a day trip then. 4 hour hi-way ride. 2 out 2 back. That was 3 days ago you could have put 200 on it by now.
