can anyone tell me what year was the first evo 5sp made. i want to fit a reverse to my trike but it needs to be a 84 and up trans.thanks all

5 speeds have been around since 1980. 84 a few minor things changed with them. What year was your bike before the trike conversion ? You should be ok

this trike is a bit of a mystery as it has a 1400 rev tek motor. im still trying to work out its origin

That side cover says 90 or later model, I'm suspecting it's an aftermarket trans.

Well that changes things, that's an early stock cover and I'm seeing the old shovelhead style starter on it so it could be anywhere from a 1980 to I think 87 or 88. Somebody put an aftermarket hydraulic clutch on it. I'd suggest making a call to the reverse manufacturer and start asking questions, suspect the 84 number is just when the 5's became standard.
